90 Round Tablecloth

These days the 90 round tablecloth is one of the most popular, and is available in a wide range of fabrics and patterns.

One of the most important things to consider when choosing a 90 round tablecloth is what it is going to be used for. This may seem an obvious question, it may be for a dining room table, in which case you may want to consider napkins and placemats that match your 90 round tablecloth, or it may be as a general cover to a kitchen table that is not used just for entertaining.

In the case of a dining room table where the primary use is entertaining, you have a myriad of options. However if you are looking for something luxurious to impress your guests, then a 90 round tablecloth made from Damask is perfect. Pure damask is made from silk and any pattern is generally woven in, giving a raised appearance. The fabric is lustrous, with high definition color. Damask napkins feel very up market (which they are), and will demonstrate to more discerning guests that the fabric is “the real thing”.

Beware, however, that this fabric is easily ruined by difficult stains such as red wine.

Another fabric to consider for the dining room, is Irish linen. This is woven cotton, often plain white with a woven pattern and quite thick. 90 round tablecloth in Irish linen is soft to the touch and quite heavy, with a “traditional” feel. Like Damask however, cotton is a natural fibre and absorbs awkward stains easily, but is sometimes hard to restore.

A good alternative is a cotton/polyester mix. This has a good deal of the cotton “feel”, but the polyester content makes your 90 round tablecloth much more serviceable. It is also much easier to iron after washing.

Pure polyester tablecloths are becoming very popular in that they are almost impossible to permanently stain. They wash well and come in a wide range of fabulous colors and patterns. However, it has to be said that 90 round tablecloths in polyester have a slightly “plastic” feel to them. This is because they are made of a synthetic fabric, and are therefore not as pleasant to use as some of the more exotic types above.

It may be that you have found an occasional table that is perfect in size and height for, say, a bedside table or coffee table, but is in poor condition. Rather than spend time and effort stripping and refinishing the table, you may decide that a 90 round tablecloth is the perfect compromise.

Also, how about outside and barbeques? Here you will want a table cloth that can take the weather and general wear and tear. A good 90 round tablecloth in vinyl is a good choice for outside. Vinyl tablecloth can stand up to just about anything a party can throw on it, with just wipe with a damp cloth will restore it back to it’s original beauty – no washing or ironing needed here!

Finally oilcloth 90 round tablecloth is a fantastic all rounder. Inside or out, oil cloth table cloths are pleasant to use and often have a padded underside, which helps prevents heat marks and staining, and also provides a smooth usable surface over table tops that may be cracked , pitted or uneven.
